The structure of the manual corresponds to the main periods of the country's historical development: Britain in antiquity and the early Middle Ages, the Norman Conquest and England in the 12th century; events related to the struggle for the Magna Carta and the emergence of parliament; socio-economic development of England in the 14th century. and the rebellion of Wat Tyler; political struggles of the 15th century; the era of primitive accumulation; the history of the absolute monarchy of the Tudors. Along with issues of socio-economic and cultural development, significant attention is paid to political history (this especially concerns the 15th century, which is of great importance for understanding the history of literature).
