The wonderful Polish novelist Alexander Omilyanovich, unfortunately, is almost unknown to the Russian reader. Nevertheless, more than one and a half dozen of his books have been published abroad, translated into all the main languages of Europe. The novel “Wolf's Lair” tells about the selfless struggle of Polish partisans and underground fighters against the German occupiers. The main character - Lieutenant Andrzej Stanger - bravely penetrates into the very heart of the Wehrmacht's military intelligence and obtains the most valuable information about the impending attacks of the fascist troops on the Eastern Front. The original title was "In the Belovezhskaya Pushcha" (Aleksander Omiljanowicz "Duch Bialowiezy"). Published in the USSR by Voenizdat Publishing House, Moscow in 1978. Translation from Polish by V.V. Anisimov
