Benito Mussolini's memoirs cover the period from the Battle of El Alamein in the fall of 1942 to his release from prison in the Gran Sasso in the fall of 1943. In them, the Duce constantly returns to the past, compares, analyzes, and makes predictions. His memoirs contain apt and accurate characteristics of many famous people of that era. In essence, this is Mussolini’s political testament, and, according to the author’s plan, it should justify in the eyes of posterity both the Duce himself and the ideals he professed.

Be that as it may, Benito Mussolini was one of those few the chosen ones of rock who made the history of the 20th century. He, to a large extent, shares responsibility for all the suffering that this century brought to millions of people, and therefore his memoirs, first published in Russian, belong to history and should not be forgotten by us.
