2 Peter and Jude are rarely consulted by New Testament readers. The special contribution of these epistles to Christian life remains unnoticed. If some part of the Bible is not used by the church in liturgical practice, and individual Christians do not strive to study it on their own, we can say with confidence that the enemy believes that he has a great advantage over us. We simply must rediscover these messages and remember that the early Christian shepherds preached their doctrine at the risk of their lives. It may seem strange that these two messages are considered together in one book, although they were written by different authors and addressed to different audiences . The fact is that both of these messages contain a number of common thoughts and words. But when reading this book, you must remember that these are two different and independent texts. The authors tried to highlight not only their similarities, but also external and internal differences. Why are messages written by different authors combined into one book? Both messages raise and discuss the same topics. They say that false teachers who occupy important positions in churches are destroying communities and sowing discord among Christians. False teachers mock the very essence of the Gospel, and perversion of the Good News leads to a distortion of Christian morality. The times Jude refers to are similar to our own; and today many opposing forces are sowing discord in the churches, depriving them of peace and tranquility. The book was first published in English in 1995 by Inter-Varsity Press, Nottingham, United Kingdom, which is a division of the International Fellowship of Christian Students (IFES), uniting groups of religious students from more than a hundred countries around the world.
