In Zoroastrianism, as in most religions, differences in theology and heresy are common. The most significant of these is Zurvanism, a heresy that developed at the end of the Achaemenid period. At this time, Zoroastrianism became the main religion in Iran, professed and propagated by the kings of the Achaemenid dynasty. The Zurvanite heresy disappeared after the invasion of Iran by Arab troops and the adoption of Islam in Iran.
