The country knew the author of this book, Vladimir Kulikov, as a prominent orientalist journalist. This is not surprising. More than half a century of his life was associated with China. But all the impressions, various events, actions and deeds of the people he met along his reporter’s paths: in Chinese cities, villages, construction sites, in student dormitories, in scientific centers, did not fit into the narrow framework of his radio and television programs, documentaries.< /p>

That’s why books about China were born. In them he wanted to prove, convince, share knowledge that did not fit into the narrow framework of journalistic reporting. They were appreciated in Russia. The books were published in significant editions. And they never sat on the shelves.

“Unknown China” is his latest book. He wrote it so that China would become even clearer, closer, dearer to us today, so that our neighboring countries would always live in peace, harmony and friendship.

These are the impressions of many years lived in China, communication with the Chinese and with hundreds of representatives of different nationalities, professions and ages.
