The book is dedicated to the biography of Jesus Christ. We know the name of the author - the famous French writer, academician, Nobel laureate Francois Mauriac. Although he calls himself a Catholic writer, and indeed, in his novels, essays and memoirs, he often examines life from a religious perspective, the image of Christ in the book is written with great realism. The writer strictly follows the Gospel text, and at the same time, his Jesus is a historical person, and, removing the gold leaf from his image, Mauriac boldly exposes the sharp corners of modern Christian consciousness. “The Life of Jesus” will be of interest to the Soviet reader, since it is the first (for 70 years old) a book of this kind. The Russian edition of the book is dedicated to the memory of priest A.V. Menya. The publication was carried out with the participation of the Glagolitz cooperative: part of the profits from the sale of the edition is transferred to the Cultural Revival Society at the Association of Charity and Culture for the Republican Children's Hospital in Moscow.
