In Soviet and Eastern European historiography, the topics of the youth policy of the Third Reich have always been ignored. The similarities between the practices of the Third Reich and the realities of the youth policy of the socialist camp were too striking. Not only the goals, methods and tools of indoctrination, with the help of which immature children's minds were polished, but even the attributes of the Hitler Jugend were certainly associated with the pioneer organization and the Komsomol. Any hint of the similarity of these youth organizations was suppressed immediately, so today the history of the Hitler Youth is practically unknown to us. The book of the young St. Petersburg historian and journalist Sergei Kormilitsyn, written on the basis of Russian and foreign research, as well as numerous materials from German archives, fills this information vacuum.
