The Russian State Library for the Blind offers to your attention a bibliographic index dedicated to a dog - a guide for the blind. The index is intended for employees of special libraries, employees of institutions dealing with the problems of social and labor rehabilitation of the visually impaired, as well as for the widest range of users of libraries for the blind .The literature presented in the index will help visually impaired people make a successful choice of a four-legged friend and devoted assistant. The index contains: a short essay “The Dog is a Guide for the Blind”, bibliographic lists of literature in the sections: “The Dog is a Guide for the Blind”, “Republican School for Restoring the Blind’s Working Capacity and Training for Guide Dogs”, “Fiction about Guide Dogs”. When preparing the index publications, card indexes, and collections of the Russian State Library for the Blind were used. The bibliographic index includes flat-printed, relief-dot and voiced materials. The selection of literature was completed on September 30, 2001.
