Information about modern building materials, coatings and technologies used in the installation of various types of floors in buildings and premises for industrial, residential and public purposes has been summarized and systematized. Much attention is paid to the issue of preparation for floor coverings (concrete base, screeds). Materials and technologies for installing various types of floor coverings in industrial (monolithic seamless cement-concrete, polymer), residential and public buildings (parquet, linoleum, laminate, cork, tile, stone, etc.), in sports facilities and in livestock buildings are presented. The technologies for installing “warm floors,” raised floors, and “floating floors” are considered. The physical and mechanical characteristics of materials produced by leading manufacturers, their scope of application, mechanisms and equipment for floor installation work are given.
