Answers to more than 600 questions received by the author while communicating with amateur gardeners at specialized courses, while conducting radio and television programs, in letters, and also based on rich personal experience have been collected and systematized. More than 80 vegetable crops are presented, their medicinal and nutritional properties, origin, and cultivation characteristics are shown. Examples of site planning, construction of greenhouses, methods of caring for plants, and measures to combat diseases and pests are described. Recipes for processing vegetable products are given: canning, pickling, drying, freezing at home. An analysis of the climatic conditions of the Leningrad region has been made.
