The novel by Swedish writers Gunnel and Lars Ahlin is dedicated to the outstanding commander of antiquity Hannibal. The story is told from the perspective of the chronicler-poet who accompanied Hannibal on his campaign from Spain to Italy through the Pyrenees in 218 AD. e. during the Second Punic War. And although the action is chronologically limited to this period of the war, the novel also talks about many other events of those years.
