More than 50 years have passed since the end of the Second World War. Thousands of different works, monographs, and memoirs were devoted to this global period of human history. However, there are still “blank spots” in the problems of domestic military science that have not been disclosed in published works to date. One of these is the use of Allied armored vehicles on the Soviet-German front. There are several reasons for this. The first of them is ideological. Having become irreconcilable enemies after the war, both the USSR and the USA tried to keep as silent as possible about the successes of a potential enemy and “raise on the shield” their own achievements during the years of former cooperation. Thus, two super-myths were born: about Soviet military power, with the help of which Europe “united” by Germany was defeated, and about American economic power, without which the countries of the Anti-Hitler coalition could not have won the war. Both of these provisions have the right to truth, but, considered in themselves, they lose all meaning. History does not tolerate subjunctive moods. Germany and its allies were defeated by a bloc of states, each of which made its feasible contribution to the common cause. The second reason for the presence of “forbidden” topics in domestic historiography (among which was Lend-Lease) was the unsettled financial relations to pay for supplies to the allies during the Second World War. World War. Any publication on this topic, especially in Soviet times, could cause a diplomatic scandal. But our book is not about that. She talks about the extent of real assistance from the Allies in strengthening the armored, mechanized and artillery forces of the Red Army, about the advantages and disadvantages of certain supplied models, and their mastery by Soviet soldiers and commanders. This work is about the heroism of our tank crews, who managed to study foreign equipment in such a short time and successfully fight with it. This process was not easy, it went through difficulties and failures, but still our soldiers learned to beat the “German”. And how they beat us! As for the quality of the supplied tanks, their tactical and technical characteristics, the allies handed over to us everything they had, during particularly difficult periods, withdrawing various equipment from their own combat units for immediate shipment to Russia. The refusal of supplies could be compensated for only by one price - human blood. And if for 50 years the governments of our countries have not been able to understand this issue, then it is never too late to thank the peoples who helped us during the war years. To all those who made, collected, transported weapons, cars and food across the seas and oceans to distant Russia , thank you very much! Thank you from those who returned from the war, and not their lives, but only the metal of the weapon paid its deadly price for victory.
