The heroes of this book move from tavern to tavern, run from reality to reality: either the moral police drive them out of glamorous society with nail files, then the stern commissar Luiza Pervomaevna sentences them to death, then the big athletes are almost sent to the sports battalion for general frailty of the body, then the guards of the Unified Office Building catch you on an unscheduled smoke break - nowhere, in a word, they do not allow you to sit to your heart's content over a glass or two.

But the world is not without good people - any, even divided into houses hostile to each other - states and apartment-states. And, as you know, you can talk with kind people about the situation in the world, and with others you can also have a drink. This is what our heroes do tirelessly.

“Across Taverns and Worlds” is a modern version of the poem “Moscow-Petushki”, only it ends well - the heroes find a world they like and remain to live there. The book gives hope that despite the abundance of hostile worlds that surround us every day, we can always find one that will happily open its arms to meet us, the main thing is not to give up and look for it.
