Wilhelm Wundt (1832 - 1920) - German philosopher and psychologist, one of the founders of experimental psychology. In 1879, he organized the world's first laboratory of experimental psychology at the University of Leipzig, which became the most important international scientific center and the only school of experimental psychology of its kind for researchers from many countries in Europe and America. However, Wundt considered the main work of his life to be the creation of the so-called `Volkerpsychologie` - `psychology of peoples`, descriptive and historical psychology of higher mental processes, the method of which is the analysis of the manifestations of the human spirit in forms of culture (in language, religion, customs, myths). The ten-volume “Psychology of Nations” (1900-1920) he wrote had a huge influence on world science. This book, first published in 1911, was intended by the author as an introduction to the study of this work.
