Polish writer. Daughter of a rich landowner. She was brought up in a Warsaw boarding school (1852–1857). Published since 1866. Ozheshko's early novels and stories ("Pan Graba", 1869; "Martha", 1873, etc.) are dedicated to the struggle of women for human dignity. The two-volume set includes the novels "Above the Neman", "Mier Ezofovich" (the first volume); the stories “The Witch”, “The Boor”, “Bene nati”, the stories “In the Hungry Year”, “The Fourteenth Part”, “Give me a Flower!”, “Echo”, “Interrupted Idyll” (second volume).
