The main character of the novel, Luciano Valdez, is a famous writer. Any woman is ready to fall into his arms if he beckons with just his finger. Only one thing overshadows Valdez's cloudless existence. For a year now, he has been unable to write anything except a single line: “A skinny red cat crossed the street.” A prolonged creative crisis leads to depression. But at this moment Luciano meets Katerina - young, passionate, enthusiastic. Confident that with the help of Caterina he will be able to overcome the crisis and start writing again, Luciano does not notice how he falls in love with her... and commits murder.
