Before you is the story “Let Pripyat look into the eyes.” This is a prequel to the author’s earlier work, “The Bitter Herbs of Chernobyl.” The story describes the real story of boys who survived a nuclear disaster in the distant spring of 1986. The names of the main characters have been slightly changed, but the author is confident that students of secondary school No. 2 in the city of Pripyat will easily recognize themselves. Many thanks to a resident of Pripyat, now a resident of Kiev, Alexander Rubinsky for his help in working on the book. It was he who served as the prototype for the main character of Sashka Zarubin’s story. The book cover was made by T. P. Chernokozinsky commissioned by the author.
