The book presents the biography of the second most successful Kriegsmarine submariner, Wolfgang Lüth, who is little known outside Germany. And it is not surprising - Lute increased his score not in the harsh waters of the North Atlantic, but much further south, dealing with an enemy with little ability to resist, and a very significant part of his victims were neutral ships. That is, his skill is not at all obvious from the amount of tonnage sunk. However, the American naval sailor Jordan Vose does not hide his sympathy for the fascist submariner, sometimes depicting his “exploits” in such a Christmas-leaf style that he does not notice many of the gross mistakes made “on the topic”. However, the book somewhat reveals the picture of the “war for tonnage” waged by German submariners in remote theaters of the Second World War, and therefore represents a certain value.
