We present the first large book in our country about Rosner, written in a fascinating and detailed manner, involving many rare, unknown or previously unpublished materials. Eddie Rosner is one of the most mysterious figures of Russian pop and jazz: a native Berliner, a pre-war jazz virtuoso Europe, the first star of Polish and Belarusian swing, the first real showman in the USSR. In the Soviet Union, his name and music were banned twice - in the late forties and early seventies. It is not surprising that we still know very little about this outstanding musician. Even during his lifetime, legends were formed about him. Contemporaries remember him as an idol of dudes and a favorite of women, a tireless storyteller and a man with a complex and adventurous character, a darling of fortune and an eternal wanderer. Who was he really? Where did he come from to the Soviet Union? What vicissitudes did the one who was nicknamed “white Armstrong” in his youth have to go through? The book will answer these questions. It includes the memories of singer Nina Brodskaya, testimonies of colleagues, friends and relatives of the brilliant trumpeter. The author of the documentary novel, writer and musician Dmitry Dragilev, has been collecting information about Eddie Rosner for twenty-five years. The book is illustrated with exclusive photographs. The CD is included only with the printed edition.
