Willy Richardovich Gebel is the first builder of the city of Gremyachinsk. Born in 1925, in the family of a rural teacher. He comes from the village of Peppental, Zelmansky district of the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of the Volga Germans. The Gebel family, like the families of thousands of other Soviet Germans, was forcibly evicted from place of his permanent residence in Siberia. From Siberia, mobilized by the Legostaevsky military registration and enlistment office of the Novosibirsk region into the labor army, Willy Richardovich was transported to Gremyachinsk. From December 7, 1942 to 1956, he worked in the Gremyachinsky UNSh on the construction of mines (mine No. 62, 68, 69, 66, 7/72., 73/74, 65), and then at the 75/76 (Taiga) mine from 1956 to 1989. Willy Richardovich Gebel is well known to Gremyachi residents and as the chairman of the city society of Germans “Vidsrgeburt” "("Renaissance"), V. R. Gebel reflected his impressions of his life in his memoirs. These are memories of how the pioneer builders of the Gremyachin mines forged Victory, how they lived and worked in the name of a great goal.
