Biographical sketch, published in Nezavisimaya Gazeta, 06/08/2006 About the sad life of the cheerful writer, Teffi, “the queen of Russian humor.” Teffi (Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Lokhvitskaya, by her husband - Buchinskaya, 1872 - 1952) - Russian writer and poetess, author of humorous stories, poems, feuilletons, employee of the famous humorous magazines “Satyricon” and “New Satyricon”, memoirist and translator, white emigrant... She lived a long life. Three Russian revolutions and two world wars took place under her. After the October Revolution, she left the country, lived and worked in Paris. In 1946, she was invited to return to Russia. But she chose to die at the place of her final resting place. It happened on October 6, 1952.
