The proposed book is devoted to a valuable, although least known, area of the architectural heritage of St. Petersburg. In it, the author, continuing his many years of research, examines in detail the processes of architectural development of a number of enterprises that played an important role in the development of the domestic industry. The task is to expand the usual boundaries of ideas about St. Petersburg architecture, which, along with classical ensembles, forms the unique appearance of the northern capital. The coverage of the passing pages of history acquires particular relevance in connection with the changes occurring when the functional profile of many historical complexes changes. The book is addressed both to specialists in the field of cultural heritage conservation and to the general public – citizens, entrepreneurs, and government officials.
