Makhno is an outstanding personality, the leader of the anarchist movement in Ukraine, whom Soviet propaganda called a bandit, but kept silent about his case. Now Nestor Makhno is compared to Robin Hood, Spartacus, “Comrade Che”. Coming from the poorest peasantry, at the age of 29 he managed to gather a 100,000-strong army under the flag of anarchy and began to create an anarchist society in the south-east of Ukraine - a labor federation, which lasted 100 days under the constant blows of the Whites and Reds.
