Hadley's parents went on a sea cruise, leaving her in the care of a high school neighbor. Everything would be fine, but soon a strange stranger named Maxim Grimm appears on the doorstep, introducing herself as Aunt Hadley! She tells the girl that her parents died and now Hadley will live in the Grimm House with the Aunts Grimm! Hadley's life is turned upside down. She is forced to move into the gloomy and damp Grimm House, she has to obey her aunts and clean, cook and even dance for them after dinner. After some time (which seemed frozen in the Grimm House), the girl begins to suspect that the aunties are actually witches who want to take away what is most precious to her.
