Jamie Goldberg is a volunteer on the campaign staff of a local Senate candidate. He loves his job very much, although he tries to stay behind the scenes. Talking to strangers is a big challenge for him, and going door to door campaigning for his candidate is a nightmare. But then he meets Maya...Maya Riman is having the worst summer of her life. Her best friend went off to college, her trip to Italy fell through, her parents are getting divorced, and now, at her mom’s insistence, she’ll have to campaign for local elections with some awkward guy. Of course, spending the entire summer vacation persuading her neighbors to come to the polls is a big deal. not the most pleasant thing, but the closer the vote gets, the more tense the atmosphere in the headquarters and the more complicated the relationship between Jamie and Maya becomes.
