“First the Bees Disappeared” is a dystopia that immerses the reader in, in the author’s opinion, a very likely near future of our world, mired in an environmental and, as a consequence, food crisis. To a future where transnational corporations have openly merged with national governments, and hunger has become the best regulator of behavioral patterns, and therefore of all human life. Almost the entire population is concentrated in megacities, leaving one of which the heroes discover a completely new world, living by its own, often much fairer rules than modern civilized society.18+
