Light and stone. Essays on writing and the realities of publishing
after payment (24/7)
(for all gadgets)
(including for Apple and Android)
The book is divided into two parts: “Light” and “Stone”. In the first part, T. E. Watson talks about the typical mistakes of a beginning writer, what gets in the way on the way to the top and how to avoid it. You will learn how to learn to concentrate and why you need a schedule, how to start writing (and successfully continue!), where to find inspiration, purpose and meaning. If you doubt whether you should quit your full-time job to write, whether you have talent, are afraid of losing motivation due to criticism, are wondering how to properly prepare a manuscript for sending to a publishing house, courageously accept rejection and withstand competition - you will find the answers in the relevant chapters. The second part, “The Stone,” is straight-forward, practical advice for improving your performance, from breathing correctly to choosing a computer mouse. It also includes tips on writing and an inside look at the publishing process: developing characters, observing everyday life and the people around you, developing your imagination, finding a literary agent, self-publishing, and the stages of publishing a manuscript through a publishing house. At the end you will find a summary of fifteen “always” and “ never” in writing. These tips will help you get far enough to complete your first draft.
