The new and by far the largest work by Anton Utkin develops the traditions of the classic Russian novel, but at the same time is addressed to world culture. The novel “The Far Far Away Lands” was written in four times and the plot connects both different eras, countries and territories. The interweaving of historical periods and characters turns into a grandiose saga about the most dramatic episodes of Russian history. The subject of this artistic study was completely forgotten episodes of the Russian-Japanese War, the history of the zemstvo movement and self-government in Russia, paintings of the first Russian revolution and apt sketches of the legal consciousness of the Russian people. The author carefully reconstructs the life of Russian society in the last decade before the outbreak of the First World War, because, as one of the characters says: “restoration is the restoration of justice, and the past seemed to him as its endless triumph, and although the past sometimes stumbled, it was still an ascent ".
