Many married couples face the same problem. Having gotten married, she wants to maintain her independence, her own business, and to be equal in everything with her husband. He, understanding her desire, still believes: now the main thing in his wife’s life should be family and home. Only those two successfully solve this difficult task, in whose union there is a third, but by no means superfluous - mutual love. Will the novel's characters, Olivia and Stuart, overcome the obstacle to happiness? Will they understand that the highest wisdom in love is not to take, but to give?
