Yuri Vladimirovich Makarov is a Russian nobleman, a career guard officer, whose entire military service in old Russia was associated with the famous Semenovsky Regiment, founded by Peter I. Immediately after the cadet school, Yuri Makarov entered the Semenovsky Life Guards Regiment and remained faithful to it throughout life, even in those difficult times, when the regiment ceased to exist, and its officers who survived the battles of the First World War were scattered not only throughout Russia, but throughout the world. But the former Semenovites kept the memory of their regiment sacred. Before the First World War, Yuri Makarov completed officer courses in Eastern languages and was sent to the apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but immediately after the start of the war he submitted a report with a request to return him to his native regiment. With his regiment, Makarov went through the most difficult periods of the war, when his units suffered gigantic losses, and he himself was seriously wounded more than once, but after treatment he returned to duty... But this book is not only about the war and difficult military service - “balls, beauties, lackeys , cadets" will also pass before the reader’s eyes, as will many officers and public figures who left their mark on history - from Colonel of the Preobrazhensky Regiment A.P. Kutepov, the future general of the White Army and leader of the monarchists, to the young Semyonovite, second lieutenant M.N. Tukhachevsky, the future Soviet marshal... Yuri Makarov gives a broad picture of military life at the beginning of the 20th century, talking about everything with subtle humor, brightly and figuratively. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
