This book is an honest and frank account of the events of 20 years ago, which the author, Sergei Polozkov, people's deputy of the Russian Federation in 1990–1993, witnessed and took an active part in. He is one of the few members of the Supreme Council who voted against the Belovezhskaya agreements and against additional powers B. N. Yeltsin, coordinator of the youngest and most pugnacious faction “Smena - New Politics”. Being in the last months of the work of the Supreme Council the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Commission on Economic Reform, he organized, together with his comrades, resistance to privatization according to Chubais. It so happened that he began his political career in Nizhny Novgorod and crossed paths with such famous and very different people as Kiriyenko and Nemtsov. Sergei Polozkov was part of the leadership of the political movement “Civil Union” led by Volsky and Rutsky, communicated with film directors Govorukhin and Menshov, with the now half-forgotten Travkin, with shot by Yushenkov, killed in a plane crash by Kosopkin and many other famous people. He took part in the tragic events of September-October 1993. And about all these people and events in his book, it is written juicily, vividly with self-irony and attempts to analyze them from the height of past years.
