In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, causing severe flooding and literally turning the city into ruins. Memorial Medical Center was locked down, without electricity and the ability to get help from anywhere. Thousands of people - from seriously ill patients to relatives of medical staff - were cut off from the outside world for five days. Doctors had to make difficult decisions: who to save first, who should be evacuated, and who might not live to see it.
