The Path of the Bodhisattva (Bodhicharya Avatara) is the largest work of Mahayana Buddhism, written by the outstanding Indian thinker and poet of the 8th century Shantideva. The Bodhicharya Avatara reveals one of the most important ideals of humanity, the ideal of the Bodhisattva, that is, a being who has dedicated himself to achieving the highest goal of spiritual quest - Awakening in the name of the happiness and well-being of all living beings.
