Deep beneath the ancient streets of Istanbul, four prisoners sit in one cell: student Demirtay, Doctor, hairdresser Kamo and Uncle Küheylan. While awaiting their fate, in an effort to forget about the unbearable reality, they tell each other funny and strange stories. Gradually, from these underground legends, a picture of a different life, inaccessible to prisoners, emerges. However, the suffering and hopes of the people from those stories are not much different from the suffering and hopes of the four captives, who, with the power of their imagination, united two great Istanbuls into one whole: the one that is hidden in the bowels of the earth, and the one that lies on its surface.
