“Grammar Dictionary” by N. N. Durnovo (1876–1937) is a unique phenomenon in Russian philological thought of the 20th century. The first edition of the Dictionary was published in 1924 and became a bibliographic rarity. The Dictionary is a practical guide to modern and historical courses in linguistic disciplines. It contains an interpretation of 273 terms from the main branches of linguistics: phonetics, spelling, morphology, word formation, syntax, lexicology, and also reveals some concepts from the field of history and general theory of language. 8 “The Dictionary” widely presents the terminology of the formal direction of the Moscow Linguistic School.
