Modal syntax is a new section of syntactic science, designed to explore the semantics of language (primarily syntactic units) and text based on the anthropocentric principle of “man in language”. Traditional sections of syntax (structural, communicative, semantic) need to be supplemented with research into the role of the speaker (me) in the structure of language and speech. The role of the speaker is manifested primarily in subjective (text) modality - a universal linguistic category that forms an important layer of meaning of linguistic units and plays a large role in speech formation. The book describes the theoretical foundations of subjective modality, the subjective modality of a word (word form), phrase, text. For researchers, teachers, graduate students and students of the humanities, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in the Russian language.
