The first book of the fascinating and extensive work “A Fire for a Cricket” not only captivates the reader with its detective-fiction sharpness, but also makes one think about the dialectics of the socio-social structure of society, the role in it of the active-volitional principle, the guiding social idea. Catastrophic the disorder and immorality of today's reality, presented primarily through the figure of the central character Rostislav, appears in the historical extent and unity of both the past era (revolution, civil war) and the future (aliens on a spaceship).
