Galina Nurmina is the literary pseudonym of Galina Aleksandrovna Voronskaya (1916–1991). In 1937, as a final year student at the Literary Institute, she was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison on false charges. She served her sentence in Kolyma. Here in 1949 she was re-arrested and left for indefinite settlement. Released in 1954. “On a distant mine” is the first book by a writer whose creative destiny is at its peak! - interrupted by arrest, unjust investigation and years of captivity. In the most difficult days, if even the slightest opportunity presented itself, the writer secretly returned to literary work.
