Robert Young (1915–1986) is a name familiar to all true connoisseurs of classic science fiction. It is enough to list the titles of just a few of his works: “Cut Down the Tree”, “Dandelion Girl”, “The Stars are Calling, Mr. Keats!”, “Thirty Days in September”, “On the River”... Robert Young was not a professional writer and throughout his life , with the exception of three years of military service, lived in the small town of Silver Creek in New York State. He worked as a machinist, foundry worker, doorman, handyman, and in his spare time he wrote and over thirty years created five novels and more than a hundred stories, and it was the stories that became the writer’s calling card. The works included in this collection belong to different genres, but they all have one thing in common the amazing kindness and humanity of Robert Young, unexpected plot twists and writing skills, thanks to which we see through his eyes the hills in golden-red autumn attire, ghostly waltzing couples in an abandoned starship and a marvelous creature in the green lace of the crown of a giant tree.
