Сюжет розгортається навколо п’ятикласника Томмі Крейна, який випадково стає свідком жахливого злочину, і це відкриває двері до світу серійних вбивць, що вражає своєю реалістичністю та жорстокістю. Персонажі прописані дуже детально, і їхні переживання відчуваються на кожній сторінці. Особливо вразила динаміка між Томмі, Венді та вчителькою Енн, яка додає емоційної глибини до сюжету.
