Helen Hannemanni and her family move to Berlin in search of a better life. You can disappear in a big city, and this is how you can survive in the new Germany - turn invisible. But Helen's worst fears come true when her husband, a virtuoso violinist, is first fired from the Berlin Conservatory and then arrested along with their children by order of the SS. Helena could have remained free, unlike her gypsy husband and their five children, but she refused to leave her family. In the camp, she will have to make an even more fateful choice: give up and submit to the will of fate, or fight and save, at the cost of her life, the little prisoners of Auschwitz. The book has two endings: fictional and real, each reader decides for himself how the story of Helen and her family will end.
