The historical phenomenon of modernity, the era of modern times, is of interest today. The problems of the past come to life in connection with the challenges of our time. What is “novelty”, “modernity”? These concepts remain relevant, since the very concept of “new” and the attitude towards it differs in different cultures. Although changes occurring in one part of the world reverberate in other parts, not all of them acquire a global scale, encountering resistance from traditions and pressing development needs of those or other countries. Therefore, it is interesting to get acquainted with the assessment of the significance of the phenomenon of modernity by philosophers and cultural scientists of such a developed and at the same time not broken with the traditions of a country like Iran.
