The book “Golden Momiji”, written in the genre of a political detective story, describes dramatic events at a turning point in the history of our Fatherland and its relationship with its Far Eastern neighbor - Japan. The plot is related to episodes of misappropriation by the Japanese imperial army and financial institutions of the Land of the Rising Sun gold assets of Russia during the occupation of the Russian Far East (1918–1922). Against this historical background, the not yet sufficiently researched and described confrontation between the Russian (Kolchak) military counterintelligence and the intelligence agencies of Japan is revealed, and the initial, but rather successful steps of the Soviet foreign intelligence in the “eastern direction” to search for foreign traces of missing Russian gold. The pages contain exclusively real characters, events and documents. There is also artistic fiction, but only to an insignificant extent and only in those cases when historical and documentary information and materials, according to the logic of the narrative, should be supplemented with explanations and sometimes abstract reasoning. The book will be of interest to historians, oriental researchers, teachers and students universities, employees of Russian and Japanese financial, economic and law enforcement organizations, politicians and the general public.
