“The Unwhite Crow” is the second novel by the young German writer B. Lebert, who became world famous after the publication of his debut novel “Crazy.”
Two twenty-year-old guys are traveling on the Munich-Berlin night train. Henry paints the story of his love, Paul listens attentively. Travel companions for one night, they understand each other and do not understand: the problems of twenty-year-olds are approximately the same, but it is in human nature to perceive one’s problems as exceptional and exclusive. The narrative flows slowly and while reading you manage to feel the atmosphere of a night conversation with a random fellow traveler, and even sympathy for him. But is it possible to guess what lurks in the depths of his silence...
