The book is dedicated to the events of August 30-31, 1919, when power changed twice in Kyiv in two days. The city, abandoned by the Bolsheviks, was taken by the united Ukrainian army under Petliura, and the next day by Denikin’s Volunteer Army. Having analyzed a large number of materials, including from little-known archival sources, the author constructs a presentation from the position of a neutral observer, without sharing the point of view of either side. For a wide range of readers interested in history.
