Georgy Sergeevich Martynov (1906–1983) is one of the most prominent representatives of Russian science fiction of the “classical Soviet period.” Perhaps now Martynov’s works seem a little naive, but... G.S. Martynov’s first book - “220 days on a starship” - was published in 1955. Only two years separated the world from the beginning of the space age - the launch of the first Earth satellite. The romance of interplanetary travel has already excited the imagination of hundreds of thousands of readers who perceived Martynov’s novel not even as science fiction, but as a kind of “chronicle of the future”... It was followed by “Sister of the Earth”, “The Legacy of the Phaetonians”, “Callisto”... However, Martynov wrote science fiction not only “cosmic”, but also OTHER. Before you are two of his novels about time travel. In the distant future, the hero of “Guest from the Abyss” wakes up, and the hero of “Time Spiral” goes to the distant past. And reading about their adventures is still INSANELY INTERESTING!
