1968. The height of the Vietnam War. The Americans are transferring the latest F-111 bombers to Indochina, which will undergo combat tests in the skies of North Vietnam. Airplanes turn out to be almost invulnerable to anti-aircraft missiles and artillery because they fly at night, at extremely low altitudes and at supersonic speeds. Soviet intelligence officers are preparing an operation to steal a top-secret car and are recruiting a pilot instructor who has been training Vietnamese pilots for almost a year...
From the author I have long been interested in the Vietnamese war. Partly because some people I know were involved in it. Partly because I always liked the predatory profile of the MiG-21 fighter, the legendary aircraft of those years. Partly also because I like to understand the reasons for certain events. This book is a work of fiction, but, no matter how cliché it may sound, part of its plot is based on real events.
