The compiler of this book is one of the respected Athonite elders, who out of humility wished to remain anonymous. For more than 30 years, he collected and systematized stories and sayings reflecting the ascetic and hesychast Tradition of Holy Mount Athos. His eight-hundred-page book, published on Mount Athos in 2011, has gone through several reprints. For the convenience of readers and with the blessing of the elder, the Russian translation is published in three volumes - “Biographies”, “Tales of Asceticism” and “Stories of Elder Paisius and other Holy Mountainers”, which are united under the general title “New Athonite Patericon”. The first volume of the patericon contains previously unknown lives of 25 Athonite ascetics, mostly our older contemporaries, who pleased God in the middle of the 20th century.

Читання цих життєписів стало для мене джерелом натхнення та духовного збагачення. Я вражений, як автор зміг передати атмосферу Святої Афонської Гори та її аскетичних традицій. Цей том, що містить раніше невідомі житія, допомагає зрозуміти, як важливо жити у злагоді з собою та оточуючими. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто шукає глибокі духовні істини та бажає зануритися в атмосферу православної віри.
