To what extent does a person’s life depend on the circumstances around him? From relatives, friends, acquaintances? The hero of this story believes that he makes his biography himself. That he can ignore circumstances. That they in no way influence either the course of his thoughts or his actions. That he can exclude external circumstances, especially those that do not appeal to him, from his biography, and they do not affect his life in any way. His life turned out normally, even quite well. But it turned out that there were moments in it when it was possible to do otherwise. And he acted this way and not otherwise, because circumstances had their say.
